Dual fuel - hybrid heating and cooling systems

A dual fuel or "hybrid" heating and cooling system combines two fuel sources.  We combine a high efficiency gas or oil furnace with an energy efficient electric heat pump and a dual fuel thermostat.  A dual fuel system delivers enhanced indoor comfort by seamlessly alternating between two energy sources for heating your home ~ an electric heat pump and a gas furnace.  As the outside temperatures change, your dual fuel system selects the most economical fuel source to heat your home.

A heat pump is an air conditioner that reverses the process of removing heat from the inside of a house in the summer to absorbing the heat from the air outside and transferring it inside during the winter.  Once the temperatures get too cold for the heat pump, the gas furnace will kick in and provide the necessary heating for your home.  The heat pumps shuts off while the gas furnace is running.  An energy efficient heat pump can also be added to existing furnaces.  In the winter, the heat pump will keep your home warm and during the hot and humid days of summer the same system will keep you cool and comfortable.

We can combine an Amana gas furnace with a matching heat pump.  With a dual fuel system you have the flexibility to heat your home with either the gas furnace or the heat pump, whichever is more economical as a result of seasonal outdoor temperatures.  In addition, the Amana or Goodman heat pump will provide outstanding comfort when you need air conditioning for your home.
